I guess the Supreme Court justices were acid-tripping hippies at some point, because they apparently agree with The Beatles when John Lennon sang "Happiness is a Warm Gun" in 1968. In response to a law suit sparked by a Washington D.C. ban on guns, the high court decided the Second Amendment's "right to bear arms" does extend to personal households.

Like every other driver on the roads, I cringe when the gas light comes on - gas is $4 per gallon and shows no signs of dropping significantly, and I am a poor college student.
So what brilliant plan do our leaders come up with? The government is considering lifting a moratorium on offshore oil drilling in an effort to lower gas prices for all consumers.

Well it was bound to happen and one day it did: Jamie Lynn Spears had her baby. Proud new mother and baby Maddie grace the cover of this week's OK! Magazine, which obtained exclusive copies (reportedly for $1 million) of the very first photographs of the baby.

To the editor:
I am an attorney in Miami, Fla. who attended Ole Miss for one year in 1957-1958. I read The Daily Mississippian because it evokes pleasant memories of the beginning of my education and provides me with some contact with my roots. Those students and others who are chastising Bob Khayat are losing sight of the fact that he was chosen to speak for the university and all he did in writing the letter in support of Richard Scruggs was exactly that.

Ole Miss Track star John C. Yarbrough will head to court in October on felony aggravated assault charges. The senior journalism major is chraaged with attacking Travis L. Amos with a baseball bat on October 26, 2007.
Court records indicate Yarbrough hit Amos with a baseball bat until the bat broke.
